Delays… and progress

The work on Mariachi Hero has put a dent in the AntHill production schedule – my initial idea of launching the game in June isn’t going to happen. Feels strange to move a deadline, haven’t had to do that much before… glad it’s internal.

Anyway, things are moving forward. For a while we had an extra interface button for deploying drones, but that simply wasn’t good. The reason for the button was that we deleted pheromone trails by single-tapping – the same as for deploying drones. So if you went to send out a drone and accidentally hit a trail, it would disappear. Instead, now you click-hold a trail to kill it. Much better.

The user interface is a game designer’s dream. One button for each ant type plus a pause button. Very clear-cut, very little confusion.
